F.A.G. Notes - Anna Hook, 73, of Steedman MO, dies June 14, 199 at her home. Dr. A.D. Bridges of Portland, MO, pronounced death due to nephritis. Informant was Ed Hook of Steedman. Anna was born August 18, 1849, in Steedman, the daughter of Shelton and Amilis (?) Blankenship. She was married to Joseph Hook and he survives at their home. Anna was retired. Arrangements were under the direction of Herndon Taylor and burial was in Riverview Cemetary in Steedman.
Pam Notes: Annie's birth date is listed as 1849 in most reporting; however, one census had 1852; a referenced tombstone had 1850.
In the 1900 census, there were 14 children born to this family, with 10 living at that time. The 1910 census listed her place of birth as the state of Virginia, and not Steedman.
She was married twice. First to Shadrack Asbury, whom she had 2 children with. Shadrack died around age 30 and she then married Joseph J Hook.
I was not able to find her in the 1870 census, which would answer a few questions.
Buried: Riverview Cemetery, Steedman, MO
