Immersive Learning in Japan | AltspaceVR
A look at research and development projects around immersive learning research group MAVR (Mixed, Augmented, and Virtual Realities in Learning) in Japan and how these programs are revolutionizing XR education in the country and beyond. Eric Hawkingson (https://erichawkinson.com/) is a learning futurist, tinkering with and designing technologies that may better inform the future of teaching and learning. Eric's projects have included augmented tourism rallies, AR community art exhibitions, mixed reality escape rooms, and other experiments in immersive technology. He is currently working in Japan as director of interactive at TEDxKyoto. Educators in VR vLanguage Learning Team represents educators, students, researchers, and those passionate about learning and teaching language, foreign languages, language skills, and translation in the virtual immersive learning environment known as the metaverse. We showcase learning techniques in VR for language learning educators and professionals with featured guest speakers, training sessions, and discussions on how to improve our teaching techniques in XR. This is not a language class. Educators in VR is dedicated to integrating VR, AR, and XR into education and business. We host over 800 VR free and paid events, classes, workshops, and conferences annually covering all aspects of education. Educators in VR was formed in 2018 when educators came together to solve their common challenges, and has grown to over 4,000 members from around the world, and over a dozen Team Projects (special interest groups).
