Web and Social Media

Social Media

One of the main ways we share our work, besides the annual publication, is through our Instagram account (@the_oxford_flashback). Students are more likely to check their phones than their emails for school news, and with the ever growing use of social media as a news outlet, I believe that our Instagram account is the most informational and up-to-date when it comes to photography and marketing. As a manager of three other social media accounts, I have found that keeping up with a feed and showcasing as many moments as one can is important. We highlight every school event, athletic results, and student awards or honors with photographs of the respective subject and a detailed caption. Sales deadlines are also posted on the account as a reminder for parents and students to commemorate their high school years by purchasing their yearbook.

Stories highlight staff members' hard work and involvement at school events.

Story takeovers show a "Day in the Life" of a staff member. I took over the the Instagram at the annual Mississippi Scholastic Press Association (MSPA) spring conference.

To keep our students and staff updated on the progress of our book, we post on our story. Since a majority of our buyers follow us on Instagram, we share updates about the book being ready for distribution there.

The post on the left recognizes the achievement of Choir receiving an All-Superior rating at their chorus festival. The post on the right showcases highlights from the annual Winter Formal, a fundraiser for Student Council.
