ENGAGEMENT

-        We are space explores on a mission to collect space gems. The dice will decide if we gain or lose gems. 

-        Question: How many gems will we collect or lose? 

Teacher Dialogue: “Today, we’re space explorers! Each time we roll the dice, it tells us if we’re going to collect more gems or if we must give some away. Are we ready?” 

Student Dialogue: “Yes, we’re ready! I want to roll a big number!”

Higher Order Questions: 

-        “What might happen if we keep adding gems?” 

-        “Why do you think we sometimes add and sometimes subtract” 

-        “How would the game change if we added more gems each time?”
