Background in analyzing and conducting ID reviews

In my current professional role, I make instructional guides and job aids for my department, faculty and staff supervisors, as well as the students and community we serve.

As the team member with the most technical knowledge associated with the creation of instructional materials, I am in a position where my direct input on how to create and develop these materials is significant. Although I present my work and receive feedback from my other team members, their feedback is more so in the lens of a SME, than an instructional designer; therefore, my work is not being evaluated for its level of engagement, design principles, or consideration of andragogy. Unfortunately, in my current position, I do not have many opportunities to review and analyze other colleagues’ work.

That said, I am excited by the challenge of conducting an ID review. I believe that dissecting another person’s eLearning object will help me learn how to reflect upon and improve my own ID process.
