One topic that caught my attention was the 4th Industrial Revolution. The 4th Industrial Revolution had me exploring artificial intelligence and how technology was everchanging. My research and focus address some of these elements of the 4th Industrial Revolution and how this impacts learning among people. In the course ISDT 7315, I created a web application to solve the problem of Newton Gresham Library navigation. It sounds so futuristic: a web app that learns as you research to aim in providing searches based on your common use of words. AI could possibly enhance this web application to learn with you. Could AI possibly replace humans? Foremost, I am reminded that AI will not take over the world because there is a need for creativity, emotional intelligence, and innovation.

This web application design could link up with creating trainings for adult learners facing challenges with learning technologies.

Creating a Distance Learning Survival Handbook was so realistic. I enjoyed completing the steps for creating artifacts, delivery management, technology management, course design, and instructional delivery. These steps served in getting practice for creating training accessible by distance learning or just-in-time need. This project was very rewarding and challenging at the same time and can easily be applied to providing real-world solutions for adult learners.

Although there is an increase in college enrollments, the attrition rate has increased. A plan is strategized to help promote retention by lowering college attrition rates. This artifact demonstrates the strategic planning, development, and implementation of a training program for Virtual Mentoring. The artifact outlines the fundamental components required for creating an effective training design. First, a learning map is created, followed by planning for delivery. Next, each objective supports an instructional event, strategy, and learning materials. Finally, the training program is deployed using a LMS.

Training can be adapted for adult learners based on literature reviews that indicate a lack of mentorship.
