The attachments below can be used by advanced joinery students and independent learners to assist with their studies towards the Level 3 diploma.
Of course all Martin's drawings are produced in accordance with BS1192 'Construction Drawing Practice'. To assist independent learners use the 'reading constructions drawings' found (here)
(1) Know how to produce different types of drawing
The Advanced Winder CAD Template.SKF attachment below will open in AutoSketch and can be used as a template to produce a 2D workshop drawing of the level 3 bench joinery winder stairs. Using this drawing template allows students to start drawing relatively quickly without the need to set drawing options like units, grid, scales etc. See Advanced Joinery 2d CAD Practice.pdf
See Martin for a freeware copy of the software - AutoSketch Version 5.
Other independent learners and staff make use of the project house (here) for developing drawing manually and by using CAD.
On scrutiny it will be seen that the stairwell and staircase have been left out. Maybe an advanced user would like develop and place the staircase into position.
(2) Know how to estimate quantities and price work
Both of the (xls) spreadsheets below can be used with the garage model.
The CuttingList_Blank used to produce a timber cutting list and estimate the price of the roofing timbers, and.
Estimate Billing Sheet used to practice estimating for the whole building work.
