Mar lived in a small village nestled in the highlands of Panama, surrounded by green mountains and the warm Caribbean breeze. Life in her community was peaceful, but Mar always felt there was something beyond her world. She was fascinated by her grandmother's stories of the hidden, about parallel worlds and unseen beings, and often explored the corners of their old house, searching for something extraordinary.

One day, while helping to clean her grandmother's attic, Mar discovered an ancient mirror covered by a tattered cloth. When she moved closer, she noticed it didn’t reflect her face, but instead, a distorted image—like looking into another world, one full of bright colors and streets glowing under a sun that never set. Mar, curious, touched the mirror’s surface, and in the blink of an eye, she found herself transported to that other world.

This world was like a brighter, more perfect version of Panama. The houses were adorned with vibrant flowers, the trees always green, and the people were so cheerful it seemed like everything was designed just for her. With a quick move, Mar managed to escape the parallel world and return to her native Panama, though something had changed. The mirror was broken, but the memory of her experience lingered in her mind. Mar knew that, although she had escaped, the Other World somehow still waited, lurking, ready to pull her back.

Now, in her house, the broken mirror sat in a dark corner of the attic. Sometimes, when the sun set and the house was quiet, Mar could swear she saw a figure reflected in it—the Other Mar, waiting for her.
