News and Media literacy deals with students ability to discern "credible and trustworthy information sources and reflect on their responsibilities as thoughtful media creators and consumers" (Common Sense Media). In our classes, students will be researching and analyzing a large variety of articles and writings online and must be able to determine their credibility and rhetorical strategies. News and Media literacy will be a priority in my classes as it becomes an increasingly more vital skill in discerning between truth and error amid the millions of voices present online. Our class's use of New and Media literacy will also focus on students' ability to analyze online sources without bias or letting emotion or opinions get in the way.
