He earned his Massage Certification at the Massage Institute of New England [MINE] and later returned to MINE to teach Sports Massage at the school.

Using Active Stretching as the foundation, Barry developed his own style of massage treatment he calls Star Tech®, an acronym for Soft Tissue Active Recovery Technique. Using STAR Tech® Barry has helped numerous clients avoid surgery, and helped stroke victims return to a normal lifestyle when they were told by their doctors that would never happen. His massage clients have included individuals from all walks of life and all ages.

Barry has given Sports Massage treatments to High School athletes and coaches, weekend warriors, triathletes, world class Marathon runners and an injured Olympic hopeful. He has taught Active Stretching to students ranging from five years old to 85 years old.

Barry has been invited by several of his local High Schools to come to the school and present talks, demonstrations and workshops on Active Stretching to Health Classes, Health Fairs and the school's athletic teams. 

He also gave Active Stretching talks and demonstrations at several dance [swing and ballet] companies, and did free massage and led free Active Stretching classes at his local Farmer's Market.

For over ten years he organized and coordinating volunteer massage teams of local therapists to offer free massage at local road races and telethon fund raiser events. 

As a result of his extensive volunteer work in spreading word of the benefits of Active Stretching, he received a Humanitarian Award  by the American Massage Thearapy Association [AMTA] in 2001.

He has appeard as a guest and did two Active Stretching episodes for Cable TV.
He presently has his own YouTube channel on which he teaches Active Stretching. Links to these videos are found in the Videos section of this website.

Barry also has led massage, wellness and stretching workshops at the bi-annual Massachusetts Men's Gathering [MMG] weekends and at The Naturists Society's week-long Eastern Naturists Gatherings in Lenox, Massachusetts and in the Poconos in Pennsylvania.

He holds an undergraduate degree in Education, and has always had a passion for teaching and sharing his knowledge with others.

Barry also offers ZOOM one-on-one consultations for pain relief, self-healing and stretch instruction and coaching.
