EKPHRASIS

Maggie’s sophomore EP, still rooted in the folk-pop roots of her debut, “Uncovered”, expresses her musical and personal development in its increasingly mature sound, fleshed out with experimental synths and driving beats. Maggie retains her potent lyricism, however, relating her experience as a young woman in her 20s, navigating life, loss and love  in a new city.

Produced by Samuel Grade, the EP takes inspiration in its subject matter from different female figures in classical art, hence the title, “Ekphrasis”. In terms of her reference tracks, Maggie’s forthcoming EP takes inspiration from artists such as Phoebe Bridgers, Dido, James Blake, Massive Attack and Taylor Swift’s recent albums.
