Week 11
Given comments among 6 groups
What have you learnt?
Dr. Ku designed a Padlet for students to share ideas and foster a discussion atmosphere. It is highly interactive and effectively ensures everyone's attentiveness in class.
To be honest, among those six groups, most of them simply created Shiny apps by copying mathematical reasoning without any practical applications. They could have worked on providing different examples, such as selling lunch sets and measuring the popularity of each lunch set using regression models.
Even our group has not started yet, we are still gaining insights from Group 10. It seems that the website and application they created are comprehensive, and students will truly learn something valuable from their work!
On a practical note, we chose the topics of the Law of Large Numbers and the Monte Carlo method. We decided to use real-life examples to illustrate famous problems. We hope our presentation will be engaging and beneficial for the students!
The comments on the Padlet are also helpful! We look forward to modifying our presentation based on the feedback received from the other six groups.
