I am in the midst of my fifth year in kindergarten at Central Brooklyn Ascend Lower School in Brooklyn, New York. The first three years of my teaching career was at Forestville Road Elementary in Knightdale, North Carolina, where the third year was unique teaching Virtual Academy during the COVID-19 pandemic. I graduated from North Carolina State University (Go Pack!) in 2018 with a B.S. in Elementary Education - STEM Concentration. I will also be attending New York University as a part-time student to obtain my M.A. in Learning Technology and Experience Design. Teaching has been my dream profession since I was in kindergarten myself. Witnessing students experience that "ah-ha!" moment while becoming 21st-century problem solvers is priceless.
Along with teaching our future generation, traveling and experiencing new cultures is my other passion. I spent a semester studying abroad in Milan, Italy and have also spent a summer volunteer teaching ICT in Namibia. Because of my unique experiences abroad, teaching students to be globally and culturally competent citizens is important to me as an educator. Creating a welcoming, nurturing, and accepting classroom community for all students is a top priority in my classroom.
