In August 2021, I joined the Ascend Charter School community as a kindergarten teacher at Central Brooklyn Ascend Lower School in Brooklyn.

CBACS Morning Meeting Routine

Students walk into my classroom to relaxing music and the attached slide presented on the board to start our day and morning routine. We would then proceed to our morning meeting that follows the Responsive Classroom approach.

Instructional Math Slides

As a member of our kindergarten team, I noticed that the lessons provided needed some extra "spice." I adjusted the lessons so they would be more engaging and to better develop students' conceptual understanding of the Common Core Math Standards. In doing so, I created slides for the grade level team.
