To assess a student’s phonics and spelling development by identifying which spelling patterns they have mastered, and which ones need further instruction. Help determine student’s developmental spelling stage and guide targeted phonics and word study instruction.

These results suggest that Emery is in the letter-name alphabetic stage and transitioning into the within-word pattern stage. In this stage, Emery needs further instruction in areas such as long vowel patterns, blends, and digraphs.
