Emery demonstrates a strong foundation in early phonics skills but is still developing in more complex spelling phonic patterns, as well as common reversals. Emery has mastered letter recognition, vowel sounds, and simple CVC words, but struggles with consonant blends, digraphs, r-controlled vowels, long vowel patterns, and multisyllabic words. These results show that Emery would benefit from additional instruction in decoding more advanced phonemic patterns, especially vowel spelling patterns.
Strengths
Letter recognition; most consonant sounds; vowel sounds; CVC words
Needs
Consonant blends with short vowels; digraphs and trigraphs; r-controlled vowels; long vowel spellings; variant vowel patterns; multisyllabic words
