As a first year medical student, I have been excited to begin to learn the fundamentals of medicine and of what an impact physician have on the community. However, when the Covid-19 pandemic began I realized how now more than ever medical professionals are needed in our world. I have been eager to express my gratitude and respect for everyone who are fighting on the frontlines of this pandemic which is why I wanted to work on the Thank You project. I think that it is our responsibility to encourage, recognize, and thank the individuals who are selflessly putting themselves in harms way day in and day out to take care the people who have contracted this disease while we are still doing our part by observing social distancing and staying at home to help flatten the curve.
