2025 BROADCASTER OF THE YEAR!
Since the beginning of high school sports broadcasting, there have been competing interests for audiences and show rights. Individual high school broadcast teams could live-stream regular season events as often as they wanted. Once the teams made the playoffs, all the broadcast rights went to the NFHS Network (National Federation of High School Sports Network) , a national high school for profit streaming service.
As I got more experience and grew a "varsity" level team for live events, I took my concerns about being left out of the playoffs to the Colorado Student Media Board. Several board members reached out to NFHS with my wish to showcase our talents throughout the entire season. NFHS gave us a chance, and we have created an incredibly successful relationship with them.
I am proud to not only have given my team this opportunity, but opened the door for future student live-broadcast teams. We look forward to keeping this special relationship between the students and NFHS alive for as long as possible.
