This diagram illustrates the technical operations of industrial waste processing both inside and outside the factory. Internally, the process starts with preparation, including mixing and inspection of materials. Waste products are then filled and packaged into plastic or metal containers. Laboratory waste, such as solvents and pharmaceuticals, is collected separately for disposal. Wastewater undergoes treatment in a dedicated plant, where contaminants are removed, producing sludge.
Externally, sludge is disposed of through certified methods, while recyclable containers are sent for resource recovery. This systematic process ensures waste is managed efficiently, minimizing environmental impact and supporting sustainability efforts through material reuse.

Water Resource Management System at Tainan Plant
By partially recycling water, Bora Pharmaceuticals minimizes its water demand and potential environmental impact.
Wastewater is split into two types: water from daily use and water from work processes.
The process water gets cleaned in a tank on-site before it’s sent to a sewage treatment plant.
Separate pipelines are designed within the plant to handle industrial wastewater, domestic sewage, and runoff wastewater.
To reduce the risk of water shortages caused by climate change, Bora Pharmaceuticals will continue to review its water usage, monitor potential water scarcity risks, and evaluate strategies to improve water efficiency.
Water Resource Management System at Tainan Plant
Let me explain how we manage wastewater step by step. We monitor how much water we consume and find ways to recycle it. At our site, we recycle 40% of the water, which saves over 26 tons annually.
The wastewater we produce among the drug manufacturing process is divided into two types Domestic wastewater comes from restrooms, kitchens, and similar non-industrial sources. Industrial process wastewater is created during manufacturing. Both types are treated separately to ensure proper cleaning. Domestic wastewater is treated using simpler systems, while industrial wastewater goes through advanced processes to remove contaminants.
After wastewater is collected, it is treated using filters and special treatment tanks. Once the water is cleaned, some of it is reused in the factory for cooling and cleaning. The remaining water is safely released into the environment.
