This project is an amazing example of how to set up a EP. Create a project that makes the listener want to hear more, make the listener excited for the next project. If this is the just the preseason I can't wait for the season to start. DJ Scheme crafted a banging EP that I highly recommend. DJ Scheme has been a artist I have never paid much attention to, but after this dropped it gave me a reason to keep DJ Scheme on my radar. However I do recognize that DJ Scheme is like DJ Khalid except from Florida. DJ Scheme throws his producer tag on a lot of the tracks even though he didn't do much for the track. Lyrically this EP doesn't do much to expand Ski Mask, Yachty, or Danny Towers topics. The lyrics are very simplistic but the lyrics do fit the songs and don't make the songs bad. Ski Mask gives us fun bars like "First made her giggle no tickle, uh, Then made her tickle my pickle, uh" from "How You Feel?". However Ski also shows his more violent side with bars like "Hey, mister (Mister), I might give a Glock to my sister (To my, to my), 'Cause it's a dirty world, you could get hurt (Water, you could get hurt)" on "Hey Mister". This is a good example of Ski switches his topics up and actually making it sound good. On the other hand we got Danny Towers with weak ass bars like "Took a bitch out like a date, uh" on "How You Feel?". But Yachty does bring dumb (but in the good way) bars like "I'm in the Phantom, my bitch got no panties". With all these different types of artists all providing good and bad bars the songs come out average lyrically. I do however enjoy the freestyle, the track is enjoyable even if some bars are weak. The production of the EP sounds very much like Ronny J (as he is one of the producers), with the overuse of the 808's. But that does not effect my enjoyment of the songs production. What really hurts the production is the simplistic sounding instrumental of "Hey Mister" as it does get old after twentieths listens. Overall the production is very good but could be improved. The delivery and flow used by Ski Mask The Slump God on each song are amazing. Somehow he flows so smoothly over each track no matter the type of track. Lil Yachty monotone type delivery on "How You Feel?" is a very good example of how Yachty can use his monotone delivery to help a song out. Lil Yachty blew up off his playful kinda joke like songs but recently has moved to more of a serious monotone rapping which is not the right move as many of his songs he does this on he destroys the sound. But his one verse on this EP he delivers. Danny Towers aggressive rough delivery fits all his verses on all the songs he is on. This EP has a theme which always helps the creativity rating, but I do understand that a project from a producer usually won't have a theme. The three songs on this EP deliver similar beats, similar lyrics, similar subgenres, similar basically everything which does not provide a versatile listen. I enjoyed this EP heavily, even if it doesn't sound like I do. I love when Ski Mask is paired with heavy 808 type beats as they always give a enjoyable song. Overall this EP was good, if DJ Scheme wants to bring his projects to the next level he needs to have more versatile production and more artists.
