Hoplite Glendoodle - better known as "Happy" - was called on by Gandalf to get into the woods with some companions, but not really into being the face of the party.  He likes to watch interactions and see what he can learn from them.  He likes to swim and smoke, and stick his nose into places they don't belong just to see what is around the corner.  

He is good with his sword, but he thinks it is more of the sword's doing than his.  An heirloom from the family, it keeps the family and the Shire safe.  Probably given to some heroic ancestor so that he would not die in some stupid way; and then passed down as a reminder that the heroic ancestor probably died in some stupid way.

He'd found himself to be quite busy of late fighting off wolves and wargs which had become far more brazen in their attacks against livestock. He'd returned home after a long night, only to find a note waiting for him next to his favorite chair...
