Vietnamese Culture Night (VCN)
Every spring, LBVSA puts on an annual stage production, known as Vietnamese Culture Night. Almost the entierty of LBVSA students are involved in the creation of this show for the enjoyment of the UVSA and CSULB community. VCN is a day where one can clearly see how much hard work, dedication, passion, and creativity VSA puts into their shows. It is held in CSULB's University Theater nearly every spring and features various performances by different committees, namely, the big three: Lion Dance, TVDC, and Modern. The show aims to highlight the cultural experiences and/or history of the Vietnamese American community.
VCN is one of the main reasons you hear people say, "this is why I keep coming back to VSA." And for LBVSA, VCN season is the time where people form strong bonds. This is the place where memories are made that will define your college years. VCN is honestly where it all happens.
Other than CSULB, other schools within UVSA also host their own VCNs. Each school's shows are remarkably different, with various tones of comedy, drama, and everything in-between. Every show is an new experience and because of this, going to other school's VCNs is also an important part of VSA culture.
