President
The president oversees all positions on board. Not only do they must know what every position on board entails, they must be able to fill in these positions in the event that a member is unable to accomplish their tasks in the given time. Being president on board also means that they are automatically UVSA staff and must attend certain events under the demand of the UVSA President.
Internal Vice President (IVP)
The Internal Vice President is second-in-command in the circumstance that the President is unable to perform duties. IVP is also in charge of managing Interns, booking rooms for the club, and organizing Vietnamese Graduation Ceremony. They also maintain board internally and always finding ways for board to operate more smoothly.
External Vice President/Intercollegiate Council (ICC)
ICC is in charge of keeping relations externally with UVSA and other school's VSAs. As a UVSA staff member, ICC is expected to help UVSA plan intercollegiate events and must attend ICC meetings. ICC represents Long Beach in UVSA, and in order to strengthen relationships with other schools one must go to external events and encouraging members to go as well.
Secretary
The secretary's job is to carry out/delegate all administrative duties, email the meeting minutes to board every week, take notes during board meetings, and sending the complete meeting minutes to the general VSA public. The secretary also is in charge of collecting emails and emailing VSA members the weekly newsletter.
Treasurer
The treasurer's job is to organize/update annual operating budgets and manage money within the club, maintain the cashbox and agency account, and write and apply to grants that will help maintain club activities.
***Every member on board must read and be familiar with the VSA Constitution and Bylaws.
VCN Director
The VCN Director's job is to coordinate and direct LBVSA's Annual Vietnamese Culture Night in the spring. This includes but is not limited to directing an original skit that incorporates various performances, appointing committee heads, and working with E-Board to book rooms and finalize dates.
Events Coordinator
The events coordinator must plan and organize special events or club activities. In these events, one must provide leadership and direction to those involved and oversee every aspect of event planning. Event coordinators also have to work with other schools or clubs for any collaboration events.
ACE Chair
ACE Chair is responsible for updating the ACE application, pairing and revealing bigs and littles for the fall and spring, maintaining communication with family heads, and planning and coordinating ACE related events/activities.
Marketing Chair
Marketing chair is responsible for collaborating with board members to develop promotional and/or information visual media. They must also maintain the LBVSA website as well as all social media platforms that LBVSA uses.
Archivist
The archivist must take and post pictures of every general meeting and event that involves LBVSA, create videos when needed, and maintain digital records of LBVSA on several different social media platforms.
Activities Chair
Activities chair must create activities for every meeting that engage both old and new members as well as incorporate Vietnamese Culture.
Fundraising Chair
Fundraising chair plans and coordinates fundraising events as well as sponsorships.
Interns
Our interns are here to learn about how our VSA board works and organizes both events and the club in general. They go through an application and an interview process, and once chosen, not only do they get to see how we work as board and how we run the club together, they are also given opportunities to shadow board members and learn about their positions. They are treated as members of board and we act as their mentors.
Family Heads
Family heads are decided through the unanimous consent of their respective ACE families. They are usually the most senior active member of the family, and their job is to relay information from ACE chair/board to their families for effective communication.
