Miscellany
In addition to my work in philosophy and library and information science, I've got a few other ways to occupy my time.
I have a blog. As one does.
I sing a bit and play a wide range of instruments in an appropriately wide range of styles, including (in descending order of actual skill) violin, viola, guitar, ukulele, electric bass, tenor guitar & tenor banjo, and (most pathetically) the pennywhistle. I play the pennywhistle very badly indeed. I have a sort of rough-and-ready acquaintance with sound reinforcement and recording technologies as well (translation: I can use Garage Band/Logic without hurting myself and set up my own sound system at a gig without causing too much feedback). The link here goes to some recordings I did a while back, mostly of original compositions or arrangements.
I am an enthusiastic amateur at digital photography (weapon of choice: a Leica D-LUX 6). I really have to delete some things from my ever-expanding Flickr stream...
