Portfolio

"Portfolio" is perhaps a bit grand, as names go, for what I offer here: a small sample of my written work, some syllabi, and my teaching and librarianship statements. I've divided the lot up into sections devoted specifically to work in Philosophy and work in Library and Information Science.

Library and Information Science

  • Librarianship statement
  • For a large sample of my graduate work, including pieces from coursework, from my volunteer work at BVU's library, etc., check out my final graduate portfolio site for SJSU.
  • I've recently started writing a series of short articles about designing and teaching an intermediate or advanced philosophy course using the ACRL Information Literacy Framework, which I'm posting on my personal blog and LinkedIn starting May 12, 2018 and ending on June 9, 2018. The series will also include occasional side discussions about citations and other issues in scholarly communication.
  • I am comfortable with a variety of Office 365 services, including the creation and use of SharePoint sites (a sample of which is available here).
  • Using my (slowly improving) HTML & CSS skills, I redesigned and continue to manage the web site for the Mountain-Plains Philosophy Conference; I'll probably be moving the site to WordPress late 2018 and updating the design, which is now a bit dated.
  • 12 Short Cases is an open textbook/resource collection (CC-BY-SA 4.0) I've created for use in general studies of professional ethics. The cases are fairly general; I've tried to walk the line between providing sufficient professional detail to make problems relevant and keeping the inside-baseball experts-only material to a minimum.
