Medical Education Rotation
Welcome to your Medical Education Rotation!
Description:
Emergency physicians function as educators throughout their career regardless of their practice setting. This month-long rotation is set up to expose senior residents to theoretical knowledge and practical skills, as well as tools and techniques to become better educators. By the end of this rotation, residents will be able to identify their own strengths and weaknesses as educators, incorporate various aspects of medical education into their daily practice, develop their ability to evaluate learners and provide feedback, and deliver a high quality project from the rotation.
Goals:
Develop a well-rounded education skill set
Identify personal strengths and weaknesses as an educator
Incorporate medical education into daily current and future practice
Objectives:
Identify learners by level of training and progression of skills and knowledge
Learn and refine bedside teaching techniques
Facilitate small group learning sessions
Lead simulation-based learning sessions
Produce a high quality medical education product
Critique large group lecture
