How old do I have to be to join LL-PSU?

There is no age requirement.


Do I need to be retired?

No, many of our members are still working or working part-time.


Do I need to be a PSU graduate or be associated with PSU to belong?

No association to PSU is required.


How many members do you have?

Our membership varies, but is generally between 150 to 200 people.


What are the dues?

$20 for individuals and $35 for couples. For a membership form, Click here.


Where are the programs held?

Programs are held on campus in the Urban Center Building (506 SW Mill Street, Portland OR 97201), Room 212 (Parsons Gallery). Our two music programs are held in Lincoln Chamber Hall, Room 326.

When are the programs?

Presentations are on the 1st and 2nd Thursdays in October, November, January (2nd and 3rd Thursdays) and February thru May, from 1:00-2:00 p.m.

What type of programs does LL-PSU have?

Our Program Committee Chair tries to have diverse programs that will appeal to people with different interests. To see a list of the programs since 2006, Click here.


What are the social aspects of LL-PSU?

Before each program there is a social gathering at 12:30 p.m. There is also a holiday luncheon in December and an end-of-year celebration in May.


What is the administrative structure of LL-PSU?

LL-PSU has a Constitution and Bylaws.

LL-PSU is run by the Board Officers and Committees.

The Board meetings are open to all members. Dates and locations are announced in the Newsletters.


What is LL-PSU's connection to the Senior Adult Learning Center (SALC)?

  • LL-PSU is sponsored by SALC. SALC's Program Director, Dr. Alan DeLaTorre, is on the LL-PSU Board.
  • Age for joining: no age requirement for LL-PSU; 65 for SALC (Oregon residents only)
  • Dues: LL-PSU, $20 for individuals/$35 for couples; SALC, one time $25 application fee, no dues, tuition-free
  • You can audit classes through SALC without joining LL-PSU. You can join LL-PSU without auditing classes.
  • Gifts to LL-PSU are not tax-deductible. Gifts to SALC are tax-deductible.


When is the LL-PSU Newsletter published?

The newsletter is published the month before the presenting month (e.g., the October newsletter will be emailed/mailed in September).


Can I receive the newsletter by email rather than US Mail?

Yes. We encourage this to help us save postage.


Can I receive the newsletter if I don’t belong to LL-PSU?

We do not send out our newsletter to non-members. However, if you would like to see what we are all about, we would be happy to send you a copy of our latest newsletter with information on how to join.
