Vera in the city

“Vera in the city” is a collective data collection project in the city. “Vera in the city” aims to collect and then analyze data about common citizen science projects and to introduce valuable and needed changes to the city. 

We asked ourselves: “What will happen if we leave a white paper/screens hanging in a city, where everyone can write or draw or stick anything?”

The project goals are both, to collect the digital portrait of the city using citizen science collective approach and to analyze it.

Traces, which people leave in the city are important. One can use them to make city planning, feedback about neighborhoods. Recently citizen science approaches taught us how to collect such traces on large scales. The project consists of two main parts: 1. Data collection of non-personal traces (in agreement with GDPR), 2. Analysis and digitalisation of depersonalised traces. Visualisation of results will be installed in the exhibition space.
