City Interaction (CI) Lab Paris

City Interaction lab (Paris)

The main idea of City Interaction Lab aims at building  inclusive city-living in urban areas around the globe,  We unite researchers, urbanists, artists and educators for open workshops, common projects development and city-volunteering.

How does City Interaction Lab (Paris ) work?

1. You can come to the lab with your own project  (to be virtual resident)

2. You can also come to help with making already current ongoing project (we plan to have virtual sync-ups on the projects).

We provide space and research environment, where researchers, architects and designers from various  fields (urbanistics, physics, mathematics, architecture) can work/co-create and develop their own city-projects.  Due to COVID19 all the facilities of the City Interaction lab are virtual and all events are happening online,  which allowed us to focus on creating cross-countries projects and involve more people who rarely could meet offline. We also have a waiting list of applications to City Interaction lab (virtual during COVID19). We explore various ways of working virtually with people, including regular synchronisation calls. Have a look at projects we are starting at City lab. We are especially open for any of the computer-science projects and also happy to consider educational projects. Collaborations:  City lab B., Open data hub Snt.Peterburg, Berlin and is open for collaborations.

3. Rubbish bag project - together with Ukraine, Russia, France  https://rubbishbagproject.wixsite.com/website

4.  Make sense travels - travel un-agency for volunteering trips - international, inspired by LEWIBO www.scied.network idea

5. Green and easy transportation in the city:  often we need to choose between the two "easy" or "green" transportation.  What if we would be able to bridge the gap between the transportation being optimal yet green and safe.  Our project on this topic is related to bicycle networks analysis in the city.  More information can be found on github of the project and related hackathon.

6. L(i)ve in the city - hugging virtually project in the city, which is harmed by COVID

7.  Evolution of the city from plants perspectives. Everyone knows that city network has similar to capillary of plant leaves structure.  What can happen if the street network would be generated not by laws of human necessity, but rather plants rules.

8.  Exchange programs for CITY-hackathons. This includes programs for young generations from different countries to share and collaborate on common city programs.
