Philosophy

Reggio Emilia is a child-led approach to learning.

By observing children and learning what motivates them, we can better facilitate learning skills through play.

Play activities are purpose driven, using tools that engage and motivate the children to love to learn and want to learn. Skills such as "pre-writing" skills, independence (learning to use the potty, dressing themselves, understanding our self regulation, etc), emotional understanding, recognition and management, as well as math literacy, reading literacy and more, is taught.

We provide, within our daily routine, opportunities for free play which is VERY important in day to day learning as well as socio-emotional development. Free play allows children to extend their imaginations, their problem solving skills and build friendships, freely, without structure.

Reggio Emilia is a very successful form of guiding children through their learning journey and encouraging a life long love of learning.
