A marking that causes dark blotches and, optionally, extensive dark color spreading from the underbelly of your lirse.
Design Notes:
Marbling must be a darker shade of the basecoat, black or grey.
Marbling may have a gradient, or display up to two fully-blended colors.
Marbling always has a hard edge.
Marbling can show over all marking. However, Underbelly can be covered by all markings other than Pangare.
See marbled polecats for inspiration.
The maximum range for blotches is marked in red. At minimum, the total surface area of blotches should equal roughly the size of the blue patch below, though the blotches need not be clustered together or localized.
A dark area may form on the underside of your lirse's body, creating a solid darkened area that may completely cover the area unaffected by blotches. This darkened area is referred to as "Underbelly", and does not always completely cover un-blotched areas.
CORRECT
Maximum Underbelly can cover the entire lirse, except where the base coat appears in between blotches or where covered by other markings.
CORRECT
At minimum, Underbelly must meet the blotches and continue unbroken around the underside of the lirse.
INCORRECT
Underbelly always touches at least one distinct blotch. While not a requirement, blotches generally appear to be diffusing from Underbelly.
INCORRECT
On any given body segment, Underbelly must appear to be spreading from the ventral (underneath) side of the lirse. For example, If Underbelly extends from the neck onto the face, it should also wrap under the chin. Or, if Underbelly extends from the trunk to the arm, it should also wrap inside the arm.
Marbling must be significantly darker than the basecoat, or black. The color can be selected from the Melanistic sliders or can be chosen manually using your art program's Color Picker. Look for the Luminosity or Value factor. The color of Marbled should be at least 30% (or 30 units on a 0-100 scale) lower than the color of the basecoat.
> i.e In Photoshop, a lirse who has a base coat with a Luminosity value of 75 would display Marbling with a Luminosity value of 45 or lower.
