The school is implementing the new curriculum called Merdeka Curriculum or Independent Curriculum. This curriculum allows the teacher to personalize the teaching methods and materials that are suitable for the students. In addition, this curriculum also encourages the students to be independent learners and critical thinkers. This is also combined with their Pearson Curriculum given that they have Bilingual classes which helps prepare the students for their study abroad.
The teaching plan used by BSEd English majors are the detailed lesson plan and semi-detailed lesson plan which is divided into several parts. The first part includes the learning objectives in line with Bloom's taxonomy. This includes the cognitive, psychomotor, and affective domain. The second part includes the topic, the references, and all the materials that the teacher will use. The next part of the lesson plan includes the preliminaries where the teacher greets the students, check the attendance and have their prayer. After that, the teacher recalls the past lesson and presents an icebreaker to engage the students for the new lesson. The presentation of the topic includes connecting the motivation or icebreaker to the new lesson. The next part is the discussion. The discussion part includes all of the topic and lesson as well as the students' responses. After the discussion is the generalization which includes a summary of the whole lesson and the last part includes the evaluation and assignment. The evaluation is an activity that checks whether or not the student understood the lesson for the day.
