Happy Packer Sunday - it's going to be a good day...the game is televised here.
Glen and I went to the Thursday night Bronco game so today's game - regardless of outcome - will be an enjoyable football experience. Wow, that Thursday game was TERRIBLE! We enjoyed the company and experience though.
As you may have guessed from my going to a weekday football game, I'm feeling good. Still tolerating the medications. I feel pretty "creaky" from them but walking helps a lot. I have occasional moments and Glen is a dear and just waits patiently for them to pass.
I had genetic testing done. Short version - no clear genetic reason for my breast cancer. I had the testing 10 years ago for BRCA1 and 2. Now they can test over 60 genes for cancer (some connected to breast cancer but they test for other cancers). I should be getting a formal letter and will share it with family.
I had my monthly appointment last week, I saw the physician assistant (PA). The PA thought I was doing well. She did a physical exam and couldn't feel the tumor mass or lymph nodes so that was encouraging. It seems that they did not run tumor marker bloodwork (Its not showing up in my online portal). I'm going to call them tomorrow to see if they will draw more blood and run them. I didn't realize how much I'd come to rely on them for info! My last numbers were 72 (started at 122; 38 or less is what we are aiming for).
This week I will have a CT scan. They've ordered a bone scan as well but it's not scheduled yet. I'll get the results at my mid-November appointment when I meet with the oncologist. With the CT scan they will be able to compare it to my July scan. I think the bone scan will look more specifically at the places where the cancer has taken up residence. I've not had one before so not entirely sure what it will show.
Enough about me. Thank you all for the cards, texts, walking companionship and all around love. I really appreciate it - more than you know.
Much love.
