There are many titles that describe me. Throughout my school years, I've dipped my toe in several different extracurricular activities and potential career paths. I've wanted to be an author, a social worker, a cook, a business woman, a stay-at-home mom, a professional runner, an actress, a college basketball player, a reporter, and more. I never looked into teaching until high school when I unearthed my love for working with children. I began babysitting more regularly, and with each job, I fell in love with teaching even more. I would bring supplies to do projects with the kids and teach them how to shoot a basketball or tricks to playing tag. My sophomore year, we were given the opportunity to visit Career Tech Center (CTC) and check out the different programs offered. That trip was where I was introduced to the Teacher Academy program where students teacher assist and even lead classrooms of every age. Through the different Developmental Days, I have met high school students who teach in regular classrooms, gym classes, art classes, music classes, and even a high school graphic design class provided by CTC. I have a strong passion for giving kids equality of opportunity, and I believe the best way for me to make a difference in our world is through teaching students that they can achieve their dreams if they work hard and believe in themselves.
