Barangay Camaman-an hosts regional assessment for LTIA

CAGAYAN DE ORO CITY, Apr. 7, 2025 – Barangay Camaman-an welcomed the Regional Assessment Team (RAT) for the on-site assessment and validation for the Lupong Tagapamayapa Incentives Awards (LTIA) on April 7, 2025. The LTIA is an annual recognition program that honors outstanding barangays for their exemplary performance in the implementation of the Katarungang Pambarangay system, a community-based mechanism for dispute resolution.

DILG-10, NAPOLCOM preps conduct of PLEB Orientations 

CAGAYAN DE ORO CITY, Apr. 7, 2025 – In preparation of the creation and strengthening of the People’s Law Enforcement Boards (PLEB) Orientation after the conduct of local elections, the Department of the Interior and Local Government- Region 10 initiates a coordinative meeting with the National Police Commission.

“This meeting is a proactive step as we prepare for the election period and re-establish PLEBs in every LGU. DILG 10 supports BFP 10, Fire Prevention Month Celebration

CAGAYAN DE ORO CITY, Mar. 5, 2025 — In celebration of the month-long campaign, the Bureau of Fire Protection (BFP) Region 10 launched fire prevention month kick-off motorcade with the theme: "Pag-iwas sa Sunog, Hindi Ka Nag-iisa.". DILG awards 96 NorMin LGUs with seal of good financial housekeeping 2024 

CAGAYAN DE ORO CITY, Mar. 5, 2025 — Ninety-six (96) local government units (LGUs) in Northern Mindanao passed the DILG's 2024 Good Financial Housekeeping (GFH) for its consistent compliance with the Full Disclosure Policy (FDP) and alignment with financial administration standards, as well as compliance with the rules and regulations set forth by the Commission on Audit (COA). A significant increase from the previous year.

This recognition was conferred to five (5) provinces, two (2) highly urbanized cities, seven (7) component cities, and 82 municipalities in the region.

Recognizing exemplary lupong tagapamayapa anew, DILG 10 kicks off LTIA 2025 discussion 

Cagayan de Oro City - The Lupong Tagapamayapa Incentives Awards (LTIA) recognizes exemplary performance of barangay-based conflict resolution bodies. In preparation of the CY 2025 LTIA

implementation, the DILG 10 through the Local Government Monitoring and Evaluation Division (LGMED) conducted a coordination meeting with the cluster heads, program managers, and focal persons via Zoom on February 25, 2025.

In her welcome address, Officer-in-Charge Yvette Tolentino-Sunga underscored the vital role and guidance of the field officers in the Katarungang Pambarangay (KP) implementation. OIC Sunga further encouraged the attendees to actively participate in the discussion, and ensure that all Barangays are properly assessed to help elevate their performance.

Regional focal person, LGOO Jacklyn Mariz Occeña, discussed the criteria and references, emphasizing that its successful execution requires careful planning of the assessment schedule, and ensuring timely submission of the required documents. LGOO Occeña then showcased the LTIA-Information System version 2.0 which now streamlines the selection and nomination process of exemplary barangays.

DILG - 10 inks support to DOLE - 10 ’ s efforts vs child labor 

CAGAYAN DE ORO CITY, Feb. 20, 2025 — In support to the efforts of Department of Labor and Employment (DOL E) - Region 10 in the fight against child labor , the Department of the Interior and Local Government (DILG) – Region 10 pledges i ts commitment to the said cause duri ng the conduct of Information and Service Caravan on Child Labor Prevention and Elimination. 

Together with the other members of the Regional Council Against Child Labor (RCACL) , the signing of the pledge of commitment signifies the full support in the implementation o f the Phili ppine program against child labor and the relevant provisions of ILO Convention No. 190 on “recognizing the rights of all workers regardless of classification, and irrespective of employment status, to a world of works free from violence and harassment. ” 

In the said service caravan , invited children and families affected by child labor were able to access services such as medical services, social protection programs including information and registration hubs, and registration to skills training among others. Meanwhile, the DILG - 10 provided an information hub on the registration of kasam bahays to address concerns and queries re garding such.

CAGAYAN DE ORO CITY, Feb. 20, 2025 — The Safe Spaces Monitoring Team (SSMT), led by the Department of the Interior and Local Government (DILG), has commenced the assessment of Republic Act 11313, or the Safe Spaces Act (SSA), in local government units (LGUs). Online Demonstration on the Application For Foreign Travel Authority 

CAGAYAN DE ORO CITY, Jan. 30, 2025 – The DILG 10, LGMED, organized an Online Demonstration on the Application for Foreign Travel Authority via Zoom Platform, which was also streamed live on the DILG Region X Facebook Page.

DILG Officer-in-Charge Yvette Tolentino Sunga delivered her opening message, emphasizing the importance to ensure the completeness of the required documents before submission to avoid delays and ensure a seamless transaction. She also enjoined all LGU officials and employees to submit their applications at least seven (7) working days before the intended date of departure.

The resource persons for the session were from the DILG Bureau of Local Government Supervision (BLGS). During the session, participants raised questions, clarifications, and concerns, which were addressed by the BLGS. Some issues will be forwarded to the Central Office for further clarification.

Consultative Meeting on Halfway House Construction Guidelines 

CAGAYAN DE ORO CITY, Jan. 21, 2025 – DILG 10, in coordination with the DILG ECLIP PMO, conducted a consultative meeting on Halfway House Construction Guidelines with the Province of Lanao del Norte and City of Iligan, via Zoom Platform.

DILG OIC Yvette Tolentino Sunga delivered her opening message and expressed her gratitude to the DILG ECLIP PMO, represented by PDO Jorhan Capenpilan, as the resource person for the activity, and extended her appreciation to Dir. Dennis Villaseñor of NBOO.

PDO Jorhan M. Capenpilan discussed the guidelines on the construction of Halfway House under the ECLIP Program. He emphasized that the Halfway House offers menu of inter-ventions that ensures the security of Former Rebels and Former Violent Extremists as they transition to civilian life.

RPOC 10 holds CY 2024 Final Full Council Meeting, prioritizes plans for safer communities

RPOC TWG holds final quarter meeting for CY 2024

CAGAYAN DE ORO CITY, Oct. 22, 2024 – The Regional Peace and Order Council Technical Working Group (RPOC-TWG) held its 4th Quarter Meeting for CY 2024, at the DILG Regional Office 10, this city.

In her opening remarks, DILG 10 Officer-In-Charge Yvette Tolentino Sunga urged the body to harmonize their efforts in implementing programs, projects, and activities (PPAs) related to peace, order, and public safety. She emphasized the importance of evaluating the Council's targets to ensure they remain on track to achieve their objectives.

OIC Sunga also highlighted the need to align their efforts with the priorities of the newly appointed Secretary of the Interior and Local Government, who now serves as chair of the National Peace and Order Council (NPOC).

The meeting focused on identifying key agenda items for inclusion in the upcoming 4th Quarter RPOC Full Council Meeting for CY 2024. To this end, the Special Action Committees on Anti-Criminality, Anti-Insurgency, and Public Safety presented their accomplishment reports, along with updates on the actions taken during their respective committee meetings

LGMED Chief Corazon S. Vicente temporarily presided over the meeting. She requested the Special Action Committee on Anti-Insurgency, led by the Philippine Army, to present an update on the status of efforts against Online Sexual Abuse and Exploitation of Children (OSAEC) during the upcoming RPOC Full Council meeting.

The meeting concluded with LGOO Frelyn L. Rosqueta presenting the draft program for the 4th Quarter RPOC Full Council Meeting, noting that the final date and venue are still under consideration. DILG 10 communicates 2024 DILG audit results, key findings

In line with the celebration of Local Government Month, the Department of the Interior and Local Government- 10 facilitated the Communicating Results of the DILG Audits for Calendar Year 2024 on October 1-4 & 7, 2024, at the Hamersons Hotel CDO, Cagayan de Oro City.

DILG 10 OIC Yvette Tolentino-Sunga, in a video message, encouraged the participants to actively engage in the activity, as it was an opportunity to gather insights aimed at improving and sustaining the effectiveness, functionality, and performance of Local Government Units in the region.

The activity served as an avenue to acknowledge and celebrate the efforts of LGUs in upholding good governance and service delivery, and further strengthen collaboration between the DILG and the LGUs in enhancing governance and public service delivery.

Region 10 conducts 3rd Quarter ICAD Advocacy Cluster Meeting for CY 2024 

The Inter-Agency on Anti-Illegal Drugs (ICAD) Advocacy Cluster convened its 3rd Quarter Meeting for CY 2024 on September 30, 2024, at the DILG Regional Office (10). The activity aims to  foster collaboration and coordination among member agencies in the fight against illegal drugs.

On behalf of Officer-in-Charge Yvette Tolentino-Sunga, LGMED Chief Corazon S. In her opening message, DILG 10 Officer-in-Charge Yvette Tolentino-Sunga emphasized that the BIDA Program seeks to enhance awareness, foster responsibility, and encourage community involvement in the fight against illegal drugs. She underscored the importance of grassroots efforts, particularly highlighting the critical role of the Barangay Anti-Drug Abuse Councils (BADACs) in this cause.

CAGAYAN DE ORO CITY, Sept. 6, 2024 - To fast-track and streamline the journey of former rebels back to civilian life, the Department of the Interior and Local Government (DILG)-10 introduced updates to the Enhanced Comprehensive Local Integration Program (ECLIP) Information System and provided guidelines on Halfway House Operationalization to the concerned local government units (LGUs) – a bold move in the government’s approach to peacebuilding and reconciliation.

DILG 10 conducts SICAP-BADAC Rollout Training for PHUC Training Teams 

CAGAYAN DE ORO CITY, Aug. 14, 2024 - To provide technical assistance to the provinces and highly urbanized cities training teams and enhance their skills and knowledge in implementing anti-drug abuse programs in their respective areas, the Strengthening the Institutional Capacities of Barangay Anti-Drug Abuse Council (SICAP-BADAC) Regional Training of Trainers was conducted via Zoom Platform.

RPOC 10 leads the way in issuing first resolution to back amnesty proclamations

CAGAYAN DE ORO CITY, Aug. 9, 2024 - The Department of the Interior and Local Government (DILG)-10 facilitated the conduct of the Regional Peace and Order Council (RPOC)-10 CY 2024 3rd Quarter Full Council Meeting, at the Mallberry Suites Business Hotel, this city.

DILG 10 Regional Director Wilhelm M. Suyko, CESO IV, the RPOC Head Secretariat, made the roll call and acknowledged guests and participants. 

In his opening message, RPOC 10 Chairperson and Camiguin Governor Xavier Jesus D. Romualdo highlighted that RPOC 10 is the first council to issue a resolution supporting the amnesty proclamations. DILG 10 calls to strengthen collaboration in ECLIP implementation

CAGAYAN DE ORO CITY, Jul. 16, 2024 - To strengthen the collaboration in helping Former Rebels (FRs) and Former Violent Extremist (FVEs) be reintegrated back into the communities, the Regional Inter-Agency Task Force on Enhanced Comprehensive Local Integration Program (RIATFE) conducted its CY 2024 3rd Quarter Meeting at the DILG Regional Office 10, with the Local E-CLIP Committees, National Amnesty Commission, and DILG E-CLIP PMO.

The meeting, chaired by DILG Assistant Regional Director Yvette Tolentino-Sunga, tackled the issues and concerns, and accomplishments of the member agencies and Province and Highly Urbanized Cities ECLIP Committees. ARD Sunga also enjoined the concerned agencies to fast-track the processing of the firearm remuneration and issuance of JAPIC certification.

CAGAYAN DE ORO CITY, Jun. 7, 2024 – In celebration of the International Day Against Drug Abuse and Illicit Trafficking (IDADAIT) themed, "The evidence is clear: INVEST IN PREVENTION," and as part of the awareness campaign in the fight against illegal drugs, the Region 10 Inter-Agency Committee on Anti-Illegal Drugs (ICAD) Advocacy Cluster Radio Broadcasting Show featured Philippine Drug Enforcement Agency (PDEA)-10's efforts against illegal drugs. 

The activity aimed to highlight the various strategies being implemented to address the issue of illegal drugs in the region. During the interview, PDEA 10 Regional Director Atty. Benjamin Gaspi discussed the current drug situation in Region 10; recent initiatives of PDEA 20 in the fight against illegal drugs; and BIDA-related activities. He also emphasized the importance of community involvement and support in the fight against illegal drugs.

DILG 10 celebrates IDADAIT 2024, pledges commitment to a drug -free country

CAGAYAN DE ORO CITY, Jun. 24, 2024 –  In celebration of the 2024 International Day Against Drug Abuse and Illicit Trafficking (IDADAIT), or World Drug Day, the Department of Interior and Local Government (10) conducts pledge of commitment to fight against drug abuse and support the government’s anti-illegal drug programs. It was led by ADAC RTA Princess Airah Artajo during the flag-raising ceremony on June 24, 2024, at the DILG Regional Office - 10.

The IDADAIT is observed every June 26th each year to raise awareness about the importance of drug abuse prevention and treatment. It serves as a reminder of the need for investment in prevention programs to address substance abuse issues effectively in the country.

The theme for this year’s IDADAIT is “The evidence is clear: Invest in Prevention.”

CAGAYAN DE ORO CITY, May 31, 2024 — In the continuous pursuit of advocating for a drug-free country, the Bureau of Jail Management and Penology (BJMP-10), together with the Department of the Interior and Local Government (DILG-10), join the nation-wide conduct of the 1st National Painting, Handicraft Making, and Songwriting Challenge for Persons Deprived of Liberty (PDLs).

“Through this activity, it shows that our PDLs are with us in the campaign against illegal drugs. At the same time, this gives them the opportunity to showcase their talents in painting, handicrafts, and songwriting,” said Local Government Monitoring and Evaluation Division (LGMED) Assistant Division Chief Liza D. Ladres on behalf of DILG 10 Regional Director Wilhelm M. Suyko.

“With this, allow this activity to be a celebration of talents, a celebration of opportunities, a celebration of opening doors to everyone when it comes to contributing to the fight against illegal drugs, and finally, a celebration of being finally a step closer to a drug-free Region 10 and drug-free country,” she added.

The activity aimed to provide a chance for every PDL to showcase their artwork and encourage the support of the community to appreciate the works of the PDLs, who have poured their creativity and passion into their pieces. DILG 10 conduct 2024 ADAC Performance Audit for P/HUCs

To determine and assess the performance of the Provincial and HUCs Anti-Drug Abuse Councils (ADACs), the DILG 10 conducted the CY 2022 ADAC Performance Audit on May 2–3, 2024, at the Mallberry Suites Business Hotel, Cagayan de Oro City.

Further, the audit aimed to assess the effectiveness of the ADACs in implementing anti-drug programs and initiatives, as well as identify areas for improvement. The results of the audit will be used to guide and strengthen anti-drug efforts in the region.

In attendance were representatives from Philippine National Police (PNP-10), Philippine Drug Enforcement Agency (PDEA-10), Citizen’s Watch for Good Governance, National Chaplains of the Philippines (NACPHIL) Incorporated, and the DILG 10 secretariat team.

CAGAYAN DE ORO CITY, May. 2-3, 2024 – The Peace and Order Council (POC) Regional Assessment Committee (RAC) conducted the CY 2023 POC Performance Audit for the Provincial and Highly Urbanized Cities (P/HUCs) in Region 10, at the Mallberry Suites Business Hotel.

The objective of the audit was to assess the performance of the POCs for the year 2023 and create a platform for evaluation and sharing of best practices between and among POCs and POC Secretariats.

CAGAYAN DE ORO CITY, Apr. 26, 2024 – Facilitating possible interventions on the operation of Madaris, an educational institution that focuses on Islamic studies and Arabic literacy, for the promotion of peace, DILG 10 spearheaded the conduct of the technical working group (TWG) meeting.

DILG Lanao del Norte Provincial Director Bruce A. Colao, CESO V, delivered his welcoming message on behalf of Regional Director Wilhelm M. Suyko, CESO IV. During the meeting, the TWG members discussed their respective issues and concerns and raised appropriate recommendations regarding the operation of Madaris. These recommendations will then be endorsed and elevated to the upcoming 2nd Quarter RPOC 10 Full Council Meeting.

CAGAYAN DE ORO CITY, Apr. 22, 2024 – To discuss the guidelines and preparation for the conduct of the CY 2024 Anti-Drug Abuse (ADAC) Audit for the Provinces and Highly Urbanized Cities (HUCs), the DILG 10 conducted a coordination meeting with the ADAC Regional Audit Team, at the DILG Regional Office 10.

The meeting aimed to ensure that all necessary preparations were in place before the audit proper. Further, the audit guidelines for this year were discussed by LGOO Liza D. Ladres, who also presented the indicators that the auditors were assigned to assess the said audit.  Meanwhile, the ADAC Functionality Monitoring System (FMS), which will be used for the said audit, was presented by ADAC RTA Princess Airah Artajo.

DILG Assistant Regional Director Yvette Tolentino-Sunga encouraged all partners to strengthen collaboration to help Former Rebels (FRs) and Former Violent Extremist (FVEs) be reintegrated back into the communities, be with their families, and start over with their new and normal lives.

CAGAYAN DE ORO CITY, Mar. 23, 2024 –  More than a thousand NorMin advocates and supporters participated in the Buhay Ingatan Droga’y Ayawan (BIDA) Fun Run to celebrate the 1st anniversary of the government’s flagship program held at the Rio de Oro Boulevard.

The fun run, as well as the other BIDA initiatives, was vital in the government’s efforts to foster stronger community participation and engagement in productive endeavors, thereby diverting individuals from illegal drug activities.

On behalf of DILG 10 Regional Director Wilhelm M. Suyko, CESO IV, Assistant Regional Director Yvette Tolentino-Sunga expressed her gratitude to the Department’s solid partners which helped in mitigating the flow of illegal drugs and realizing the program’s success in the region.

ARD Sunga also highlighted the role of the local community in bolstering the campaign. “The war against illicit drugs cannot be won by the government alone; it requires a whole-of-nation approach. We all have to be BIDA champions for this fight,” she said.

Apart from the fun run, participants joining the event also enjoyed and showcased their dancing talents through a Zumba session before the fun run proper and during the awarding and closing program.

CAGAYAN DE ORO CITY, Feb 27, 2024 – As part of the implementation of the Safe Spaces Act (SSA), the Regional Safe Spaces Monitoring Team (RSSMT) convened for the first time to monitor the localization of SSA in the provincial and highly-urbanized cities level, at the LGRC Conference Room, DILG Regional Office 10, this city.

In her opening message, LGMED Chief Corazon S. Vicente highlighted that through the implementation of SSA, the government is taking a crucial step towards creating a more inclusive and equitable society where everyone can feel safe and respected. This will then serve as a significant milestone in the ongoing fight for gender equality and the protection of human rights for all individuals.

Republic Act No. 11313, otherwise known as the Safe Spaces Act, is a landmark legislation enacted to address the pervasive issue of sexual harassment and other forms of gender-based violence in public spaces. ICYMI | Given the continuing efforts to improve the implementation of the Comprehensive Social Benefits Program (CSBP), the DILG 10 called for the CSBP Regional Working Group (RWG) meeting last January 26, 2024, at the DILG 10 Regional Office, Cagayan de Oro City.

On behalf of RD Wilhelm M. Suyko, CESO IV, DILG Local Government Monitoring and Evaluation Division (LGMED) Chief Corazon S. Vicente acknowledged the efforts of the various agencies in providing assistance to the uniformed personnel who were killed in action and wounded in action (KIA/WIA) in the region. Further, she also encouraged the agencies to ensure swift and timely delivery of service, further emphasizing the importance of close coordination between member agencies.

The highlight of the said meeting was the reorientation of the salient points of Executive Order – 110, also known as Institutionalizing the Comprehensive Social Benefits Program followed by a workshop on the various commitments and ways forward of partner agencies.

RPOC 10 4th Quarter CY 2023 Full Council Meeting

2023 Q4 RIATFE meeting calls to strengthen E-CLIP implementation in the region

DILG 10 encourages CSOs to apply for accreditation

CAGAYAN DE ORO CITY, Oct. 27, 2023 — In line with the Philippine Local Governance Forum (PLGF) 2023: FLEX (Festival of Local Excellence), the Department of the Interior and Local Government (DILG) -10, conducted the "CSO Conference: Partners in DILG PPAs" last October 27, 2023 at the VIP Hotel, this city. 

The activity aimed to discuss the Department's various Programs, Projects, and Activities (PPAs) to which the CSOs can align themselves with and become partners to co-implement such PPAs through accreditation which is further discussed in Memorandum Circular 2022-005. The MC served as a guide to the accreditation criteria, requirements, and the process in general.

The Department highlighted the importance of CSO as partners for improving participatory governance and is looking forward to an increase in accredited partners in Northern Mindanao to provide good governance in the region.

DILG hails NorMin brgy 'peacemakers' via LTIA

CAGAYAN DE ORO CITY, Oct. 16, 2023 — In line with the celebration of the 33rd Anniversary of Local Government Month, the Department of the Interior and Local Government (DILG) on Monday gave recognition to outstanding Lupons that demonstrate exemplary performance and commendable contributions in the promotion of Katarungang Barangay during the Lupong Tagapamayapa Incentives (LTIA) Awards in the region.

DILG 10 Regional Director Wilhelm M. Suyko, CESO IV, explained that the Katarungang Pambarangay (KP) is a very important innovation of the justice system in the country as it provides accessible and effective settlement of disputes at the barangay level.

“This is why the LTIA Regional Awards Committee in the region held this awarding ceremony as a tribute to our lupons that have been instrumental in the successful implementation of the KP Law in your respective barangays,” he said.

The LTIA search covers all barangays in the region vying under four (4) categories namely: the Highly Urbanized Cities (HUCs), Component Cities (CCs), 1st-3rd Class Municipalities, and 4th-6th Class Municipality.

DILG 10 recognizes LGU effort to protect children, women; maintain peace and order

CAGAYAN DE ORO CITY, Oct. 16, 2023 — As part of the Local Government Code Celebration, the Department of the Interior and Local Government (DILG) – 10 recognized local government units (LGUs) who showcased outstanding performances in maintaining peace and order and empowering the rights of women and children in their respective areas of jurisdiction.

The award was given during the Department’s Festival of Local Excellence, which give due recognition to Local Council for the Protection of Children (LCPC), Committee on Anti-Trafficking and Violence Against Women (LCAT-VAWC), and Peace and Order Councils (POCs).

In the LCAT-VAWC assessment, the Provinces of Bukidnon, Camiguin, Lanao del Norte, Misamis Occidental, and Misamis Oriental garnered an ideal functionality or a percentage score of 94.5 percent, 103 percent, 84.3 percent, 99 percent, and 95.5 percent, respectively.

Meanwhile, for the LCPC, the Provinces of Camiguin and Misamis Occidental garnered an ideal functionality or a percentage score of 97.71 percent and 81.87 percent, respectively.

CY 2023 3rd Quarter ICAD Advocacy Cluster Meeting

CAGAYAN DE ORO CITY, Sep. 29, 2023 – The Inter-Agency Committee on Anti-Illegal Drugs (ICAD) Advocacy Cluster convened its 3rd quarter meeting for CY 2023, at the DILG Regional Office - 10.

On behalf of DILG 10 Regional Director Wilhelm M. Suyko, CESO IV, LGOO Rumarhevson Bacal welcomed and expressed his gratitude for everyone’s presence. Moreover, he highlighted that the meeting gives everyone the chance to raise awareness of the progress and accomplishments of each agency.

Following their presentations, DILG 10 then proposed a Buhay Ingatan, Droga’y Ayawan (BIDA) partnership with the ICAD members to further intensify and strengthen the implementation of the program. In addition, the list of activities and initiatives to be undertaken in the said partnership was also discussed.

The ICAD continues to work towards addressing the issues caused by the illegal drug trade, including drug production, distribution, and usage, which can have a significant adverse impact on social, economic, and health issues. DILG 10 2023 RCSP Conference

CAGAYAN DE ORO CITY, Sep. 28-29, 2023 – The DILG 10, through its Local Government Monitoring and Evaluation Division (LGMED), conducted the Retooled Community Support Program (RCSP) Conference at the VIP Hotel, this city.

“The RCSP serves as an important initiative of the government which fosters peace and development, especially in conflict-affected areas or barangays in the region,” Director Edward G. Bhagwani said in his opening message.

Information Systems Analyst III Jerick E. Arcega of the DILG Localization of E.O. 70 Program Management Office (LEO 70 PMO) presented the salient features of the DILG Memorandum Circular No. 2023-046, entitled “Enhance Guidelines on the Retooled Community Support Program”.

Moreover, to streamline the implementation of the RCSP, LGMED Assistant Division Chief Liza D. Ladres facilitated an Action Planning Workshop wherein participating LGUs formulated Action Plans for the RCSP implementation in their respective localities for FY 2023.

One of the highlights of the meeting was the presentation of the 3rd Quarter Lines of Efforts (LOEs) /Task Group’s accomplishment reports and updates.

ICAD initiates Radio Broadcasting Show for CY 2023 Third Quarter

CAGAYAN DE ORO CITY, Sep. 18, 2023 – As part of the awareness campaign in the fight against illegal drugs, the Region 10 Inter-Agency Committee on Anti-Illegal Drugs (ICAD) Advocacy Cluster initiated another episode of Radio Broadcasting Show featuring PDEA’s support to the Buhay Ingatan, Droga’y Ayawan (BIDA) Program and all its other accomplishments and initiatives.

During the interview, PDEA 10 Section Chief on Preventive Education and Community Involvement Joerick Tacal discussed the role of PDEA in the national anti-illegal drug campaign, updates on their anti-illegal operations in the region and their initiatives to support the BIDA Program. Moreover, he elaborated on the source of illegal drugs, its distribution in the region, and the root cause of the drug problem in the country.

“We are winning the war against illegal drugs. All law enforcement personnel are giving their all to successfully cut off the demand and supply of illegal drugs in the region,” he said.

In partnership with the Philippine Information Agency-10 (PIA-10), the activity aimed to continue the fight against illegal drugs and enable the monitoring of information relating to drugs, strengthening coordination with other agencies, and implementing programs pertaining to anti-illegal drugs. DILG 10 forges BIDA partnership with Ateneo de Cagayan

CAGAYAN DE ORO CITY, Sep. 13, 2023 – The Department of the Interior and Local Government (DILG)-10 forged a partnership with Xavier University (XU) – Ateneo de Cagayan, through its College of Agriculture’s Development Communication Department for its ‘Buhay Ingatan, Droga’y Ayawan’ (BIDA) Program to intensify its fight against illegal drugs in Northern Mindanao.

The pact was made through a Memorandum of Agreement (MOA) signing with Regional Director Wilhelm M. Suyko, CESO IV, representing DILG, and Fr. Mars P. Tan, SJ, representing XU.

𝗦𝘁𝘂𝗱𝗲𝗻𝘁 𝗰𝗼𝗺𝗺𝘂𝗻𝗶𝗰𝗮𝘁𝗼𝗿𝘀 𝗮𝘀 𝗕𝗜𝗗𝗔 𝗮𝗱𝘃𝗼𝗰𝗮𝘁𝗲𝘀

Through the partnership, XU DevCom students shall engage in the promotion of the program through the production of various BIDA-related Information, Education, and Communication (IEC) materials such as Public Service Announcement (PSA), Communication Plans, and Infographics and Poster materials, all aligned with their program courses for the first semester of SY 2023-2024.

The production of these information materials shall be used to promote and boost the BIDA campaign in the region and educate the people about the program's existing activities and the ill effects of illegal drugs.

University President Tan underscored that the advocacy of the program is aligned with the University’s vision and mission to produce committed, conscientize, and passionate students, who are in its pursuit to ‘safeguard the people from harmful things like drugs’...

DILG 10 prepares for the CY 2023 SGLG National Calibration

CAGAYAN DE ORO CITY, Aug. 16, 2023 –The DILG 10, along with the Seal of Good Local Governance (SGLG) Provincial focal persons, convened the SGLG Pre-National Calibration to revisit, and review documents in preparation for the upcoming SGLG National Calibration.

On behalf of Regional Director Wilhelm M. Suyko, CESO IV, LGMED Division Chief Corazon S. Vicente expressed her gratitude for the attendance of the DILG Provincial focal persons, and highlighted that the activity intends to ensure a clean and eligible LGUs for the upcoming National Calibration.
