RPOC TWG holds final quarter meeting for CY 2024
CAGAYAN DE ORO CITY, Oct. 22, 2024 โ The Regional Peace and Order Council Technical Working Group (RPOC-TWG) held its 4th Quarter Meeting for CY 2024, at the DILG Regional Office 10, this city.
In her opening remarks, DILG 10 Officer-In-Charge Yvette Tolentino Sunga urged the body to harmonize their efforts in implementing programs, projects, and activities (PPAs) related to peace, order, and public safety. She emphasized the importance of evaluating the Council's targets to ensure they remain on track to achieve their objectives.
OIC Sunga also highlighted the need to align their efforts with the priorities of the newly appointed Secretary of the Interior and Local Government, who now serves as chair of the National Peace and Order Council (NPOC).
The meeting focused on identifying key agenda items for inclusion in the upcoming 4th Quarter RPOC Full Council Meeting for CY 2024. To this end, the Special Action Committees on Anti-Criminality, Anti-Insurgency, and Public Safety presented their accomplishment reports, along with updates on the actions taken during their respective committee meetings
LGMED Chief Corazon S. Vicente temporarily presided over the meeting. She requested the Special Action Committee on Anti-Insurgency, led by the Philippine Army, to present an update on the status of efforts against Online Sexual Abuse and Exploitation of Children (OSAEC) during the upcoming RPOC Full Council meeting.
The meeting concluded with LGOO Frelyn L. Rosqueta presenting the draft program for the 4th Quarter RPOC Full Council Meeting, noting that the final date and venue are still under consideration. DILG 10 communicates 2024 DILG audit results, key findings
In line with the celebration of Local Government Month, the Department of the Interior and Local Government- 10 facilitated the Communicating Results of the DILG Audits for Calendar Year 2024 on October 1-4 & 7, 2024, at the Hamersons Hotel CDO, Cagayan de Oro City.
DILG 10 OIC Yvette Tolentino-Sunga, in a video message, encouraged the participants to actively engage in the activity, as it was an opportunity to gather insights aimed at improving and sustaining the effectiveness, functionality, and performance of Local Government Units in the region.

โThrough this activity, it shows that our PDLs are with us in the campaign against illegal drugs. At the same time, this gives them the opportunity to showcase their talents in painting, handicrafts, and songwriting,โ said Local Government Monitoring and Evaluation Division (LGMED) Assistant Division Chief Liza D. DILG 10 conduct 2024 ADAC Performance Audit for P/HUCs
To determine and assess the performance of the Provincial and HUCs Anti-Drug Abuse Councils (ADACs), the DILG 10 conducted the CY 2022 ADAC Performance Audit on May 2โ3, 2024, at the Mallberry Suites Business Hotel, Cagayan de Oro City.

Further, the audit aimed to assess the effectiveness of the ADACs in implementing anti-drug programs and initiatives, as well as identify areas for improvement. The results of the audit will be used to guide and strengthen anti-drug efforts in the region.

CAGAYAN DE ORO CITY, May. 2-3, 2024 โ The Peace and Order Council (POC) Regional Assessment Committee (RAC) conducted the CY 2023 POC Performance Audit for the Provincial and Highly Urbanized Cities (P/HUCs) in Region 10, at the Mallberry Suites Business Hotel.
The objective of the audit was to assess the performance of the POCs for the year 2023 and create a platform for evaluation and sharing of best practices between and among POCs and POC Secretariats.

CAGAYAN DE ORO CITY, Apr. 26, 2024 โ Facilitating possible interventions on the operation of Madaris, an educational institution that focuses on Islamic studies and Arabic literacy, for the promotion of peace, DILG 10 spearheaded the conduct of the technical working group (TWG) meeting.
DILG Lanao del Norte Provincial Director Bruce A. Colao, CESO V, delivered his welcoming message on behalf of Regional Director Wilhelm M. Suyko, CESO IV. During the meeting, the TWG members discussed their respective issues and concerns and raised appropriate recommendations regarding the operation of Madaris. These recommendations will then be endorsed and elevated to the upcoming 2nd Quarter RPOC 10 Full Council Meeting.

CAGAYAN DE ORO CITY, Apr. 22, 2024 โ To discuss the guidelines and preparation for the conduct of the CY 2024 Anti-Drug Abuse (ADAC) Audit for the Provinces and Highly Urbanized Cities (HUCs), the DILG 10 conducted a coordination meeting with the ADAC Regional Audit Team, at the DILG Regional Office 10.
The meeting aimed to ensure that all necessary preparations were in place before the audit proper. Further, the audit guidelines for this year were discussed by LGOO Liza D. Ladres, who also presented the indicators that the auditors were assigned to assess the said audit.ย Meanwhile, the ADAC Functionality Monitoring System (FMS), which will be used for the said audit, was presented by ADAC RTA Princess Airah Artajo.

DILG Assistant Regional Director Yvette Tolentino-Sunga encouraged all partners to strengthen collaboration to help Former Rebels (FRs) and Former Violent Extremist (FVEs) be reintegrated back into the communities, be with their families, and start over with their new and normal lives.
To apprise the members of the overview and updates on the Amnesty Programs, Ms. Abigail Lai and Atty. Moreen Ivonne Daba of the Local Amnesty Board โ Cagayan de Oro City then presented the objective of granting Amnesty and its application procedures.

CAGAYAN DE ORO CITY, Mar. 23, 2024 โย More than a thousand NorMin advocates and supporters participated in the Buhay Ingatan Drogaโy Ayawan (BIDA) Fun Run to celebrate the 1st anniversary of the governmentโs flagship program held at the Rio de Oro Boulevard.
The fun run, as well as the other BIDA initiatives, was vital in the governmentโs efforts to foster stronger community participation and engagement in productive endeavors, thereby diverting individuals from illegal drug activities.
On behalf of DILG 10 Regional Director Wilhelm M. Suyko, CESO IV, Assistant Regional Director Yvette Tolentino-Sunga expressed her gratitude to the Departmentโs solid partners which helped in mitigating the flow of illegal drugs and realizing the programโs success in the region.
ARD Sunga also highlighted the role of the local community in bolstering the campaign. โThe war against illicit drugs cannot be won by the government alone; it requires a whole-of-nation approach. We all have to be BIDA champions for this fight,โ she said.
Apart from the fun run, participants joining the event also enjoyed and showcased their dancing talents through a Zumba session before the fun run proper and during the awarding and closing program.

CAGAYAN DE ORO CITY, Feb 27, 2024 โ As part of the implementation of the Safe Spaces Act (SSA), the Regional Safe Spaces Monitoring Team (RSSMT) convened for the first time to monitor the localization of SSA in the provincial and highly-urbanized cities level, at the LGRC Conference Room, DILG Regional Office 10, this city.
In her opening message, LGMED Chief Corazon S. Vicente highlighted that through the implementation of SSA, the government is taking a crucial step towards creating a more inclusive and equitable society where everyone can feel safe and respected. This will then serve as a significant milestone in the ongoing fight for gender equality and the protection of human rights for all individuals.
Republic Act No. 11313, otherwise known as the Safe Spaces Act, is a landmark legislation enacted to address the pervasive issue of sexual harassment and other forms of gender-based violence in public spaces. Further, through the DILG-PCW Joint Circular No. 2020-001, conduct of safety audit shall be conducted every three (3) years to assess the efficiency and effectiveness of the law. ICYMI | Given the continuing efforts to improve the implementation of the Comprehensive Social Benefits Program (CSBP), the DILG 10 called for the CSBP Regional Working Group (RWG) meeting last January 26, 2024, at the DILG 10 Regional Office, Cagayan de Oro City.
On behalf of RD Wilhelm M. Suyko, CESO IV, DILG Local Government Monitoring and Evaluation Division (LGMED) Chief Corazon S. Vicente acknowledged the efforts of the various agencies in providing assistance to the uniformed personnel who were killed in action and wounded in action (KIA/WIA) in the region. Further, she also encouraged the agencies to ensure swift and timely delivery of service, further emphasizing the importance of close coordination between member agencies.
The highlight of the said meeting was the reorientation of the salient points of Executive Order โ 110, also known as Institutionalizing the Comprehensive Social Benefits Program followed by a workshop on the various commitments and ways forward of partner agencies.
