This is an artifact I completed in my Physical education 271 class. the assignment was to choose a chapter in the book and expand. I chose management and discipline.

I feel this paper that I wrote connects with professional teaching standard 5.5I, it states "the competent teacher uses multiple teaching strategies, including adjusted pacing and flexible grouping, to engage students in active learning opportunities that promote the development of critical and creative thinking, problem-solving, and performance capabilities;". I chose this standard because In the paper I spoke about how we as teachers should group students by their level of learning, making sure the pace is correct for certain students and adjusting curriculum so that all students have the chance to learn.

Reading this chapter in depth was helpful in many ways, it gave me a lot of Ideas as a future teacher. Mainly, teahing me that all kids learn in different ways and we can help them as long as we pay attention and adjust so they can succeed.

This artifact is from my education 454 student teaching class. the assignment was to videotape yourself while giving instruction to your class and then disect it with the given questions.

I beleive this artifact aligns with the professional teaching standard 5.5K which states "the competent teacher varies his or her role in the instructional process as instructor, facilitator, coach, or audience in relation to the content and purposes of instruction and the needs of students;" because as a Physical education teacher my role in the classroom changes many times throughout the class. I can be an instructor, a coach, and even cheerleader in the matter of minutes.

This asignment was helpful and has helped me grow more during the student teaching process. By watching myself in the video the way talk to the students, give certain instructions and even interact in general with the students made me change small things and now I feel more confident and the students respond very well.
