This artifact is a Philosophy of education paper I wrote based on Trinity Christain College's "Be Called" section of their learning outcomes. The paper is focused on learning outcomes 10 through 13 and show what my beliefs are for each seperate outcome.
I believe that this artifact connects with the professional teaching standard 4.4D. the standard says, "the competent teacher understands factors (e.g., self-efficacy, positive social interaction) that influence motivation and engagement;" I chose this standard because my answers to the learning outcomes mostly dealt with how I can be a positive example for the students as an individual.
This was a good assignment because it made me relaize how much of an impact teachers can have on students, and how we get the chance to creat environments that will set the tone for their growth in whatever subject we are teaching.
This artifact is a bullet list of takeways I wrote from a podcast called "Teacher of the Year". This was an assignment given in my education 454 student teaching class. A man who was named teacher of the year shared stories and insight on some situations he had inside and outside of his classroom.
I believe that this artifact connects with the professional teaching standard 4.4I. The standards says, "the competent teacher creates a safe and healthy environment that maximizes student learning;" I feel this applies because the teacher cared a lot about the well being of his students, and made sure he connected with them to help them feel safe and comfortable to communicate with him about anything.
This podcast was inspriring, the stories the teacher told about many of his students and how he stepped in for students when they needed him and I want to be one of those teachers in the furture.
