#04 - More Wood Will Do

The day is Tuesday, September 19th, 2023. Day 4. Today I found my true strength, I was able to chop down several trees with nothing but a flower! I’m quite proud of myself.

Digging a Sandy Grave

Still excavating the basement, we mark the outline of our house with planks just so we can better see how big the house will get. And it’s gonna get quite big - we’ll need more wood to be able to continue. Soon the sun rises above the lands, which will be our time to get just what we need.

Zombies are burning, cows are jumping - a perfect Tuesday morning in our whole new world. Making our way to the mainland, we collect remnants of a scorched undead fellow citizen and head into the trees to chop down trees with our trusty stone axe.

Trees, Trees, and More Trees

Ahh, the music playing while we’re chopping trees is absolutely nostalgic for me… it fits perfectly for our project. Anyway, we need to get a lot of trees, so that’s what we’re doing - and at the same time looking for pigs to kill since we’re not really doing too well health-wise. We’re able to find one, and it even drops some raw meat for us to devour - yummy.

Soon after, our axe breaks - but that ain’t no problem for our strongest man alive. I wish I had the strength our character had to just chop down trees with bare hands like it’s nothing…

“I’m not dropping down here” - he said right before dropping down here. And with that, a third of the health we gained from the porkchop is gone again. Welp. Doesn’t matter, we need more trees!

More Amazing Landscapes

While looking for more trees, we come across a big mountain with a huge hole in the wall - another place where we could build something awesome. A cave, which we wouldn’t get far in with two torches and no tools, luckily turns out to not go deep at all. Same thing goes for a second cave soon after. And right after that we see the cave entrance that we found in the last episode, but we don’t stay in for long because of a lack of torches - and because, who would’ve guessed, we still need more wood.

More trees get chopped (with just a flower in hand), some sheep get their wool ripped off, a few more saplings drop from flying leaves. We notice a sheep up on a mountain, but due to the sun almost setting, we decide to start retreating to the house - but not without getting one final tree. Quickly we “run” back to our sand pit where we stop the first recording of Minecraft Nostalgia with a view of the moon rising behind our doorway.
