Throughout the semester, I focused on creating habbits that encourage long-term leadership growth. For example, I tried keeping open-mind, and identifying my own areas for progress in this semester. I also realized that leadership growth recognizes mistakes and using them as learning opportunities.
Reflecting on negative leadership attributes helped me appreciate the significance of keeping grounded and being open to others’ perspectives. I tried to maintainin actions that uplifted peers, worked with cooperation, and create trust. I learned from this project that leadership is a continuous process.
This semester showed me that leadership is a lifetime effort. I am still learning how to speak my needs and the needs of others as a nursing student, but I am beginning to realize what sort of leader I want to become, a empathic, inclusive, and supportive leader. I will continue advancing by reflecting on my actions, asking assistance when needed, and working to further develop my collaborative leadership style.

Outcome Requirements:
Demonstrate leadership attributes when prioritizing, delegating, and managing care.
Contribute as a member of the interprofessional team.
This semester, I was able to develop my leadership skills by developing policy for the greater good of patients, practicing delegation, communicating, and taking in input from everyone. I was able to confidently walk in patients room, complete assessments, and provide education on certain topics. I actively contributed to the care team by recognizing that best outcomes come from clear communication and all care team members' input.
This semester I was able to work with peers to develop a policy on closing the revolving door for DKA readmission. Through this artifact, we showed leadership by taking initiative to potentially change the current ineffective system.
