Goal: Students will understand how ideas about the human body and human nature have changed over time, and how these changes shape the way people respond to scientific, ethical, and social challenges. By exploring history, science, and literature—including Frankenstein—students will analyze how moments of difficulty and uncertainty can lead to transformation, responsibility, and hope, and communicate their understanding through writing and performance.

The students will work on centers to analyze different artifacts and connect them to the three time periods (the Middle Ages, the Renaissance, and the Enlightenment). This will help them get prepared to read the informational texts and the novel.

The students will gather information from different sources (visual, audio, and written) to demonstrate comprehension, process, progress, and growth of the novel Frankenstein and the three time periods: the Middle Ages, the Renaissance, and the Enlightenment.

The students will read a collection of informational texts and the novel Frankenstein, which will help them to establish connections, infer, and reason through evidence and reflect on morality, humna nature, and science.

The students will give short presentations on their selected topics, explaining their ideas while testing and strengthening their oral communication skills through clear expression, body language, tone, pacing, and engagement with their audience.

Writing process
The students will write a script to show comprehension of the time periods and the transition between each while demonstrating knowledge of structure and grammar structures that enrich sentence fluency.

Final Product: Play
The students will bring to life their scripts by engaging on different roles, demonstrating the transitions between time periods and reflecting how morality, the human body, and science evolved and contributed to modern ideas.
