Goal: Students will understand how water and communities influence and shape one another, and how this relationship creates environmental, social, and sustainability challenges. Students will apply scientific and geographic knowledge to analyze real-world water issues and communicate informed actions they can take to promote conservation and responsible water use.

The students will carry out several laboratory experiments to explore elements, compounds, and chemical reactions, and then decide on the topic they want to publish about. They will look at different types of magazines and explore the purposes of publications.

They will select a research question that invites exploration of the impacts of chemistry on people’s lives, go to the sources, create an outline, and consolidate an article.

Each student will be assigned an element from the periodic table and will study poems in order to write about their element using research and poem structure.

Civilizations/ Timeline
Through the book and the study of access to knowledge in ancient civilizations, they will organize the events on a timeline and design a proper layout to include it in the publication.
Creative Writing
Creative Writing
In the study of civilizations and through reading the book, the students will encounter several scientists and use their experiences to write creatively from their perspective.
Editing, Revising
Editing, Revising
Receiving feedback from different people at the school and support from the Arts department, the students will carry out the full revision, editing, and layout of their magazines.
Final Product

They will work in groups to organize all the material and make collective decisions about the publication in order to answer the question posed at the beginning.
