University Park kindergartners in Jennifer Ralston's class are using technology to learn about the world around them. Through a privacy-protected Twitter account, the class is communicating with a select group of kindergarten classes in New York, Ireland and Australia, to name just a few.
The classes take advantage of globalization by teaching each other something new with each tweet. The kindergartners work together as a class to decide how to contribute to the connections and help each other spell and proofread their responses. Through this process, Ralston's kindergartners also learn to be selective with what they share online.
The video was created by Cristy Angulo, HPISD communications intern. It is the second in a series of videos highlighting innovation at HPISD's four elementary campuses.
