If you are like me, you have several devices you use regularly (ex: iPhone, iPad, district laptop, home computer, etc) and want to be able to access your files from any of your devices.
Have you considered using Google Drives or Dropbox? Short video demo at : https://www.dropbox.com/
Both of these “products” allow you to have a place to save all your files but without having to carry around a flash drive. These products are similar to having you own personal drive on any computer, phone, tablet, etc you use. I have tried both Google Drive and Dropbox and truly appreciate them. Also, these products are wonderful for collaboration. You can easily “share” folders, etc through them.
For example:
Dropbox: I have it loaded on my laptop and iPad. When I save something I want to be able to view from my laptop or iPad, I save it to Dropbox (instead of saving to my H drive, I choose Dropbox).
Google Drive is similar but a little different: Since I use Google docs regularly, the Google drive also “houses” not only my Google docs, but it also hold any files I would like to upload(like Dropbox). Google drive gives you 5 GB which is quite a lot of space for free! With that much free you could most likely backup all your network files from school.
With both products you download the “software” onto your computer devices, utilize a log in, and are able to access or save items within these locations.
