Here is a short list of iPad apps that are great for use with Assessment of students. Many, if not most, of these suggestions can be used via iPad or via laptop, netbooks, or Chromebooks.
Socrative (free)- online "clickers" used for spontaneous or pre-made quizzes. One app for teacher and one for student use. Teacher can use with either via laptops, netbooks, Chromebooks, or iPads.
Class Dojo (free)- assigns points and tracks data for behavior, achievement, or other areas of interest
Show Me (free), Educreations (free)- white board that records annotations and voice, creating a video
Popplet Lite (free)- create your own graphic organizer
Videolicious (free)- create your own 1 minute videos with voice over
iMovie (paid-comes with iPad Airs though)- more in depth video editor and creator; built in trailers to use for ease
Aurasma (free)- augmented reality video
Haiku Deck (free)- presentations with few words
Audioboom (free)- records sound and creates a playlist for publication (5 ways to use AudioBoo—former name-- in classroom)
