Outside of official lab meetings, labbies have a history of creating their own spaces for learning, connection, and support. These initiatives pop up whenever labbies bring their interests forward, and they’re always open to new folks who want to join in. All of these initiatives are labbie-led (not directed by the lab supervisor) and depend on the energy and interest of whoever wants to make them happen. If you’ve got an idea, this is the place to try it out.
Over the years, labbies have started clubs like Writing Club, Journal Club, Book Club, Interbehaviorism Book Club, and Clinical Chats. These run only as often as labbies push for them, so if something interests you, jump in—or help revive a group that’s gone quiet.

Beyond clubs, labbies also organize coworking and accountability meetups: sometimes it’s hopping on Zoom together to work side-by-side for focus, other times it’s pairing up with a check-in buddy to help stay on top of to-do lists.

We’ve also had seasonal and social efforts, like summer lab sessions, virtual mixers, and even “social connection attempts” to help labbies stay connected outside of the fall and spring semesters.
