AP courses give students the opportunity to take college level coursework and earn college credit while in high school. Courses are taught at a high level and culminate with an AP exam. Students in an AP course are expected to take the corresponding AP exam.
Students who score a 3 or higher (on a scale of 1-5) are eligible to receive college credit. It's up to the attending institution as to how they award credit. Some may require an AP score higher than a 3 to award credit.
Curious how AP credit transfers to various colleges/universities? Use the AP Credit Policy Search to find out.

Take an AP Course through TN AP Access for All
This is a grant funded program through the state of TN that allows students the option of taking an AP course online. Students are allowed to take any AP courses offered through TN AP Access for All as long as we don't offer the course in person @ LCHS. These courses are taken using an online platform called Canvas and have an assigned teacher. The teacher is virtual and can be accessed via phone and email.
Visit TN AP Access for All for more information and a listing of available AP course offerings.
