3D Printing

Level 1a: Basics and Applications

3D Printing Level 1 is an introductory class on the basics of 3D Printing. 3D Printing uses a specialized machine to melt material and, with the help of a computer program, forms three-dimensional objects. The intro class covers topics such as selecting a 3D design, setting up a Raise3D Pro2 dual extruding 3D printer and printing a 3D file. Once the course is completed successfully, patrons are approved to use PLA and ABS filament on our printers. 

This is a make-and-take class, all materials will be provided.

Level 1b: Materials, Machines and Post Processing

3D Printing Level 2 is an intermediate class on 3D Printing. The focus of the class will be on using other types of specialty filaments such as PETG or TPU (flexible filament), different types of 3D printers and finally how to turn a printed part into a finished piece with post-processing techniques. 

This is a make-and-take class, all materials will be provided.

Level 2: SLA Printing

Advanced 3D Printing - Learn how to safely and successfully print fine detailed files with an SLA printer 

This is a make-and-take class, all materials will be provided.

Laser Cutting

Level 1: Basics For Wood and Acrylic

Laser Cutting Level 1 offers an introductory class on the basics of using a Universal Laser Systems CO2 laser cutting machine. The class will cover the types of materials that can be laser cut, programs to use in order to create a design and step-by-step procedures on how to operate the machine safely.  

This is a make-and-take class, all materials will be provided.

Level 2: Glass, Metal and Rotary Tool

Laser Cutting Level 2 offers an advanced technique laser cutting course, covering techniques on how to laser engrave on anodized metal, glass, and how to set up and use a rotary tool for round objects.

All students are required to take the Laser Cutting Level 1 class first.

Vacuum Forming

Level 1: Intro to Plastic Mold Making

Learn how to create a simple 3D forms using heated plastic sheets and a vacuum 

This is a make-and-take class, all materials will be provided.

Sewing

Level 1: Sewing Machine Basics

Sewing Level 1 offers an introductory class on the basics of using a domestic sewing machine. The course will cover how to set up a machine properly, basic functions and use of additional sewing tools. Whether you are new to sewing or have been sewing for years, this class will be customized to fit your skill level. 

This is a make-and-take class, all materials will be provided.

- 2 - 2.5 Hours ($15) -

Level 2: Zippers, Buttons & Linings

Intermediate techniques, including how to sew on buttons, create buttonholes, Interfacing, and using a zipper foot all together to create a custom tote bag.

This is a make-and-take class, all materials will be provided.

- 3-4 Hours ($30) -

Level 3: Digital Embroidery

Introduction to designing and using a computerized embroidery sewing machine

This is a make-and-take class, all materials will be provided.

- 1.5-2 Hours ($10) -

Electronics

Level 1: Electronics Basics

Electronics Level 1 offers an introductory class to the world of electronics. The class will cover basic terminology and history, using digital multimeters, diodes, LEDs, resistors, capacitors and how to breadboard circuits. 

This is a make-and-take class, an electronics kit will be provided to participants for use in the class and to take home.

Level 1: Soldering

Soldering Level 1 offers an introductory class on the basics of soldering for electronics. The class will cover basic terminology, safety and proper techniques for soldering a circuit board. 

This is a make-and-take class, all materials will be provided. 

It is not required, but the Creation Station does recommend taking Electronics level I prior to this class.

Hand Tools

Free orientation class for all members on safely using equipment in the tool room

CAD

Level 1: Fusion 360 Basics

CAD Level 1 offers an introductory class on the basics of using Fusion 360, a cloud-based Computer-Aided Design (CAD) program. CAD is a type of program that helps with the creation and editing of three-dimensional files which can be used for 3D Printing and/or manufacturing.  Over the course of the class patrons will create an account for Fusion 360, practice the basic tools of design and create a 3D object.

- 2 Hours ($5) -

Sublimation Priter

Level 1: Heat Transferrable Ink

Introduction to creating designs that can be printed on a specialized printer that uses ink that can be transferred on to various materials like t-shirts, metal tumblers, mugs, coasters, keychains and more.

Cricut Maker

Level 1a: Vinyl & Heat Press

Learn how to use Cricut Design Space to create a design for Iron-On vinyl, perfect for fabrics!

- 2 Hours ($15) -

Level 1b: Card Making

Design, draw and cut elaborate cards from regualr and cardstock paper 

- 2 Hours ($15) -

Level 1c: Print & Cut Stickers

Learn how to create custom stickers with Cricut's Print and Cut settings
