Race: Human
Class: Paladin 8
Background: Sanctuary Engine Watch (City Watch)
Alignment: Lawful Neutral
Catastrophe makes strange compatriots; as the remains of the city suddenly found itself half-submerged on a new coast, deep-dwelling sahuagins found themselves neighbours with the few human survivors. With all communities ripped apart, a previously unthinkable coexistence emerged, as some men were indoctrinated into the ruthless Cult of the Shark by the sea devils.
Finding his way onto Lanternwurm was a lucky escape for Kona as the waters deteriorated further with planar pollution and mutation. He frequently rides the hazardous tops of the long engine like a brakeman, working a combination of security, maintenance, and lookout.
Kona often keeps the details of his faith to himself, but tries to embody the ideals of the Shark-Father in his actions through two main facets. Representing The Caller from the Depths, he accepts there is no undue help coming, only the indifferent waiting maw for those who sink. And yet personifying The Joyful Hunter, Kona knows nature has a way of evening the scores one way or another, and he can be a part of that process. Those furthering the planar incursion polluting for greed or power are a particular target for Kona’s measure.
In his pitch black armor and dread helm, Kona dresses the part of dark knight on call. Underneath, the dour man keeps a prisoner-like aesthetic with shaved pate and hard eyes. Though not overly tall or imposing physically, looking more nimble and predator-like, there is an intimidating cut to his bearing that invites second guessing.
Personality Traits: I remain humble and straight-laced, knowing in chaos the tide will fetch away what the ebb brings.
Ideals: Balance. Do not fish the same spot twice in a row; suppress your greed, and nature will reward you.
Bonds: Lanternwurm provided me sanctuary when I was a misfit, I will do what I must to keep it moving forwards.
Flaws: I am judgmental, especially of those I deem too ambitious or too lazy.
