The Lake Julia Association uses a "Googlegroup" e-mailing list to communicate with lake residents and users ; there are about 200 e-mail addresses on the list . Messaging has been mercifully occasional; no one has abused the list. If there are persons NOT on the list who use a lake house regularly, consider adding them to the list. This suggestion includes particularly offspring who were children a decade ago, but are now adults using the lake property independently.
Please note that you may receive occasional "form" messages from Google as revisions are made to the list; you may ignore them. You can manage your group membership -- even delete yourself from the group if you wish -- as explained below.
Who may be in the "lakejuliapeople" Group? Anyone who regularly uses any Lake Julia house, who may benefit from knowing about lake conditions or events, or who may otherwise contribute to the Lake Julia community. This includes family and unrelated friends who may use the property.
Who IS in the "lakejuliapeople" Group? See table below. This list is independent of any other list of Lake Julia residents, such as the broader general directory list.
If you are in the Group:
a. You can SEND an e-mail message to the entire list simply by e-mailing your message to: lakejuliapeople@googlegroups.com. Be careful! there are about 200 addresses on the list.
b. You can REPLY to a message received through the list as you would to any other message. As with any other message, be careful of the "REPLY ALL" button.
c. AND if you are logged in to a Google account having the same e-mail address as your Group listing, you can access the Group website at https://groups.google.com/forum/#!forum/lakejuliapeople. This gives you some additional powers; you can access historical messages sent to the Group. You can add your proper name and other directory information, and you are encouraged to do so; this makes mangement of the list easier. You can delete yourself from the list!
You probably have a Google account; you may well be logged into it all the time, unconsciously. A Google account does NOT require a "gmail" address; you can create a Google account HERE using ANY valid e-mail address.
If you (or someone you know) should be in the "lakejuliapeople" Group, or something is not working, ask the administrator.
If you are in the "lakejuliapeople" Googlegroup, you will normally receive e-mail messages sent to the group. But you may choose NOT to receive any e-mail from the group. You can choose this option on the Group website at:
https://groups.google.com/forum/#!forum/lakejuliapeople.
Even if you don't want to receive e-mail, you may want to be part of the Googlegroup, in order to view "restricted" materials on this site.
The Googlegroup list at right is arranged in alphabetical order of e-mail addresses. Googlegroups requires only an e-mail address; it does not require a person's name, but it permits you to provide a "Display Name", shown in the right column; many have not. You can go to the Group website HERE, where you can add or edit your Display Name. You are encouraged to provide a Display Name because it helps us to maintain the list. The Administrator cannot change your display name; Google does not permit this.
You cannot add yourself to the Googlegroups list, or change your e-mail address, on your own. Ask the Administrator to do these things for you.
In the list displayed below, you can scroll down to find yourself or others; you cannot edit this file online. You can export the list by clicking the boxed arrow in the upper right corner of the displayed list. This opens the file in Google "Sheets" and also allows you to download it as a separate MS-Excel file.
You will NOT be able to view or export the list above, or other "restricted" documents or pictures on this site, if you are not BOTH:
Subscribed to the Googlegroup "lakejulia people", and
Logged in to a Google account that uses the same e-mail address as the Googlegroup. The Google system recognizes you by this e-mail address.
If you should be in the Googlegroup "lakejuliapeople", or the Group has the wrong e-mail address, contact the administrator.
